Five tips to reduce Stress in your life

Take a walk in Nature to restore and balance.

Whilst stress is an inevitable part of life, long-term chronic stress may impact your sleep, diet, work habits and your relationships with loved ones, eventually leading to disharmony and disease.

Being in a state of constant “fight or flight” impacts your CNS adrenal function and drains Kidney energy or Qi, our “lifeforce”. In Chinese Medicine, our life force is directly affected by our Kidney energy (pre-natal qi). Post-natal qi is affected by our lifestyle and the quality of foods we eat. We are all guilty of trying to do more, to be more and work longer, harder hours to achieve our goals, especially here in Sydney, where the cost of living is high and most people have 2 jobs just to get by.

Long-term adrenal deficiency may lead to thyroid issues, chronic fatigue, physical ailments, lower back pain, knee pain, or neck pain. I see this in the clinic setting, especially leading into Winter, which is the season for WATER (Kidneys/ Bladder).

So, here are 5 tips to help you get the most out of Autumn and stay healthy for Winter ahead.

  1. Good quality sleep -help your body cope with stress levels. Get at least 7-8 hours sleep a night.

  2. Good quality foods- buy the best foods you can afford. If possible, buy organic.

  3. Reduce Sugar- your body will thank you for it. Eat a green apple instead.

  4. Walks/ yoga- connect with nature. Take a moment to breathe in and out. Feel alive and have gratitude for all that you have.

  5. Acupuncture/Chinese Herbs-book in to see me, as I can design a treatment just for you to help support organs such as LIVER, KIDNEYS and SPLEEN. Look and feel your best at VITALITY ACUPUNCTURE.
